The time has come to cross the threshold

September 6, 2019

Sharing some provocations – insightful quotes for the weekend, which go right to the heart of the matter.

‘We cannot do great things, only small things with great love.’ Mother Teresa

‘And here is my secret, it’s a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one sees right, what is essential is invisible to the eye.’   The Fox, in The Little Prince

‘One of the first conditions of happiness, is that the link between humankind and nature is not broken.’  Leo Tolstoy

‘(S)he who is harmony with Nature hits the mark without effort and apprehends the truth without thinking.’ Confucius

And then the Hopi Elder’s quote – which I love to re-read every so often, a bit like a ‘purpose check-in’:

You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered…

Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?

Know your garden.
It is time to speak your truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for your leader.

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.

And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

The time has come.

To cross the threshold is what the art of true leadership is all about – to die and be reborn, to ‘let go’ of old ways and open-up to the new, which is inherent within the Wisdom of Life.

A new leadership consciousness is being born in this hour of breakdown/breakthrough:

For more on how we embrace this life-affirming leadership consciousness, see www.regenerativeleadership.co  the new book co-authored by Giles Hutchins and Laura Storm.

The former Executive of the UNFCCC Christiana Figueres who steered the negotiation process towards a successful Paris Climate Agreement in 2015 is thrilled about this new leadership framework: “The world is changing fast and organizations are not keeping up with the pace of transformation.  This book invites leaders to catalyze the necessary regeneration to not just catch up, but to lead the world into the 21st century.”

Also CEOs welcome this new tangible and holistic approach to leading organizations geared for the future: “A must read for anyone who wants to shape a regenerative organization, the only one type which will survive.” Jean-Claude Pierre, CEO Scott Bader
